pilot, astronaut, doctor, architect, vet, ballerina...
i remember these answers vividly from the kids in my class. of course, i had the most horrid answers of all: "i don't know" but that's beside the point.
how come no kids ever say they want to become consultants, teachers, engineers, project managers, programmers, housewives ?
which is what most of us turn out to be anyway...
what did u originally want to become when u grew up ?
i didnt know what i wanted to be until i was in year 10, and i ended up not being that, and now after starting work, im sort of kind of getting a feel of wat i want to be

ReplyDeleteIn elementary school we had to dress up as what we want to be when we grow up and explain what we'd be doing and why we wanted to be that. I dressed up as an engineer/architect
ReplyDeleteGrowing up I also wanted to be a teacher, working for NASA, explorer/geologist (the guys who dig up ruins and try to get facts, like the titanic and stuff :P) and whatever I was dreaming of becoming I was also an exceptional writer and an amazing artist :P
I'm 22 studying engineering, hoping to achieve all of the mentioned above and I'm still adding to the "I wanna be" list. I still want all the things I wanted when I was younger, but the major thing I added is being a rock star :P
wow dishevelled u take ambition to a whole new level - good luck :)
ReplyDeletei think i wanted to be a supermodel! And then my parents said "No!" So i decided to become a writer. Or a magazine editor.
ReplyDeleteI turned out a blogger. Close enough, no?
I always wanted to train as a neurosurgeon from the time I was toilet trained.
ReplyDeleteAnd boy, did I get a realty check when it finally sunk in, my manual dexterity was nowhere up to scratch. Some reality check that was - felt more like high voltage shock therapy !!
The only upside to this handicap of mine is I can have some time to call my own to blog.
I will let you in on another secret - at 35, I am still not sure I am fully grown. I continue to grow giving wings to my flights of comic fancy.
this lady: blogging is more of a hobby than a profession isnt it - that's why it's so enjoyable
ReplyDeleteme talk dirty one day: i know a lot of 35 year-olds and over that are not fully grown so nothing unusual there :)
I wanted to be a movie star in hollywood and I wanted to live in a trailer ... :)
ReplyDeletechirp: a trailer - u mean when u're filming on the set, before u go back to your fancy crib right ;)
ReplyDeleteI always thought that I would end up a model (I used to pose in front of cameras and mirrors) :p ! For a chubby kid I used to have high self-esteem!
ReplyDeleteadie: that's kinda adorable :) so what did u eventually become ?
