U1, U2, U3?
This is probably the greatest invention of the 21st century, I only heard of it last week.
U3 is a USB flash memory platform. This new standard means that in addition to carrying your data, it is now possible to carry your personal PC operating environment with you.
Your personal DESKTOP!!! with you...anywhere....just plug in the USB stick and your personal desktop appears on any PC....for more details click on this link
Come onnn, don't act like you're not impressed.

Texas Hold'em
I'm gonna have to start poker tournament in Kuwait, playing the same people every weekend gets old and too predictable. Anyone wanna help me set it up.
*Whenever the guys can't make it, there's always http://www.partypoker.com/ I've made a good amount of money on that site. I once made 1000$ from a tournament on party poker, it took 6 long hours but it was all worth it, it was a Friday anyways.

How much is a google ?
the number
10000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 is called a google. that's a 1 followed by a hundred zeroes.
a 1 followed by a thousand zeroes is called a googleplex and is also the name of the google headquarters in CA. what a perfect name, googleplex = google-complex.

Turn-offs vs. deal-breakers
i've had a conversation about turn-offs & deal-breakers with some friends a while back. here are the most common ones:
common turn-offs:
too sensitive
too possessive
inconsiderate
guys: hair highlights
guys: jewelry
girls: too feminist
girls: too made up
inconsistent
too righteous
arrogant
too predictable
too unpredictable
spoiled
common deal-breakers:
no sense of humor
stingy
violent
apathetic
mean to the help
unreliable / flake
insecure
disrespectful (to anyone)
ignorant
lazy / unambitious
moocher (no puns here, moocherx !)
irresponsible
ok, so i might've added a couple more as i typed....
and i think all turn-offs become deal-breakers past a certain level.

Pick-a-Nick for me (Final Re-Post)
I promise this is the last time I re-post this, I just wanna get as many nick's as I can... I decided to pick-a-nick by Sunday. Thank you all
Recently I noticed alot of confusion cause there's another Yazeed blogger (from Yazeez), today I was going through the Kuwait Blog's Aggregator (safat) and this post by Yazeed caught my eye - click on Link.
After reading his post, I decided it's only fair for me to change my name since I am the "new" blogger and everyone already knows Yazeed from Yazeez.
The dilemma is, how do I pick a nickname for myself? Isn't the whole point of a nickname is for it to be given to you?
After 2 minutes of deep thought, I decided I will let iKuwaits readers pick a nickname for me, if it were up to me I'd pick something like ACE hehe and that's not gonna happen.
Update : just as promised, I will re-post this post for a couple of days to get as many different choices of nicknames as I can.

Spot the fake smile

i got # 19 wrong (i don't know if they reshuffle them though).
and speaking of smiling, papillona has a pretty cool anti-frowning post on her blog.

Press
Check it out, it's called Ikbis, I noticed that some of the videos on Ikbis are the ones that my friends "Bluetooth" around. (Like the woman wearing the Kuwaiti cop uniform and dancing, they made a big fuss about that). Maybe now we can chill on the Bluetooth transfers and entertain ourselves with this.

Where are you from ?
From AFP news agency:
"It may be very amusing for you British, but Fucking is simply Fucking to us. What is this big Fucking joke? It is puerile."
"The Germans all want to see the Mozart house in Salzburg," he explained. "Every American seems to care only about 'The Sound of Music' (the 1965 film shot around Salzburg.) The occasional Japanese wants to see Hilter's birthplace in Braunau."
"But for the British, it's all about Fucking."

Much More
Much Music is Canada's national music and variety television channel, that's all we had there, MTV was not an option and Much is much better.
MusiquePlus is the french version of Much Music which operates out of Montreal, only 5 blocks away from my apartment there. Anyway, the point of this post is I have recently learned that Much Arabia was launched during 2006. I'm looking for it on Showtime as I post.
I just realized there's a million music channels, I think we need more channels like the Discovery Channel instead of all this junk they feed the youth of today.
Much arabyeah is channel 344 on my Showtime receiver, I must say I'm impressed with what they've done, good music, decent VJ's. Maybe it's just the Canadian in me, but I give this channel 2 thumbs up.

Stallone Fund
After watching "Rocky Balboa", I decided I'm starting a charity for Sylvester Stallone, I don't believe I wasted 1 hour and 42 minutes watching this pathetic excuse for a movie, does Stallone need the money that bad, maybe he should go back to making porn or just do a Christmas movie and not tarnish a great legacy of films. Everything about this movie sucked, from the plot to the score, this movie may induce snoring.
And since it's pretty obvious Stallone's not doing too good in Hollywood, Sylvester if you ever read this, please e-mail me your bank account info, we all love you and we will support you with everything we've got, just don't ever embarrass yourself like this again, it's not worth it big guy.

Are you an annoying colleague?
i've come accross some pretty annoying colleague habits in my time. here's my top 10 list (so far)
9. smelling bad
8. acting like one's swamped everytime they're asked for something
7. talking loud / screaming in the hallway
6. CC ing a million people on every trivial email
5. laughing out loud at everything (especially at one's own jokes)
4. loud, obnoxious cell phone ringtone (i cant get careless whisper out of my head)
3. ass-kissing (being the boss' puppy)
2. smoking in meetings
and the current number 1 annoying habit is ...
1. blasting Koran with one's door open !! makes me feel like i'm sitting in a 3aza AND makes them look like they're trying to prove something
to find out how annoying you are, take this quiz
fyi, this is the result i got:
You are the perfect, dream colleague. Your sunny disposition is cheering and you ALWAYS make the tea.

Hello Moto
This was my first phone, I had it during my first year in Canada 1995.
What an ugly phone, I remember I used to carry around 2 extra batteries, each battery would last one phone call hehe I was limited to 3 calls a day, imagine we had to do that now.

Post-holiday blues
For those of you who are saddened by the jolt back into reality, here are some tips I found on the web which are supposed to help you get over your holiday blues:
- Leave out some decorations around the house as a reminder of the
christmas / new year celebration
- Put together a holiday picture album
- Play upbeat music in the background while at work and at home
- Spend time with people to avoid feeling lonely
- Volunteer with a local charity, school, or other organization
- You-time: get a massage, take time to read, enjoy some quiet time, take a bubble bath
- Don't take a holiday to begin with
Maybe taking some "you-time" or volunteering can help, but honestly the rest just seems like denial ! What always works for me is to have my next holiday planned, even if it's a very short one. it's something to look forward to.

Download Complete
I can't wait to start The Family Guy marathon, maybe this weekend will be it, I'll pass by Sultan Center for snacks and junk; for those who don't know The Family Guy I strongly suggest you go purchase/download do whatever you must to get it, this is the funniest show I've come across since "The Simpsons".

A look back at 2006 fashion fads
oversized sunglasses
skinny jeans
leggings
high-waist belts
i can't think of anything else although I'm sure there's a lot more. Come to think of it though these fads are comebacks rather than new trends. The fashion industry is running out of ideas.
