Tiesto is out with another great album.

I just realized Mark posted about it last week.

Starbox

Another addition to my boycott list, but this time I don't have a reason, maybe its:

- the rumors that 11 cents out of every Dollar spend at Starbucks goes for rebuilding Israel.
- their ugly ass logo.
- because they are in your fucking face everywhere you fucking go.
- their bitter, tasteless coffee.
- their overpriced menu.
- because they scream everything anyone orders.
- that I would rather spend my money on the local coffee shops.
- their makiatto frappacino al pacino with caramel on top.
- because I just don't like them.

& why does everyone in Kuwait call it STARBOX?????

This is SPARTA

Everyone probably reviewed this movie, but I just have to give my own review too. This movie will definitely be included on my top 20 list, the fact that it's based on a true story, of course Hollywood spices everything up and creates their own image to generate the $$$, but history does mention how everything happened.
I saw 300 at the movies in Dubai while I was there for the weekend, I suggest if you are going to watch it, make sure you are watching it in the theatres or on a big screen TV, the effects play a big role in this movie.
To those who didn't see it, its a must see "Two Thumbs Up", and for those who saw it.... what did you guys think?

Malls

Tamdeen Shopping Centre Development has announced The Mall of Kuwait in Sabahiya with a retail area of 1.3m sqft which will open in 2008. The mall will have five anchor stores and a hypermarket and be surrounded by gardens, water and leisure facilities.

Some of Kuwaits malls:

- Marina Mall
- Al Kout
- Al Salhiya
- Al Bustan
- Sharq Mall
- Zahra
- Galleria
- Layla
I'm just randomly naming the ones I know, there are allot more that I can't name at the moment.
Is there that many people shopping in Kuwait, do we really need all these malls?

Shakira Shakira

click on the pic for a video on youtube
I have to admit she did a great job with her first concert in the Middle-East, Shakira had everyone up and dancing, 25,000 people singing to her fabulous songs. I didn't go to Dubai solely for her concert, but I'm glad I went and saw her.

SHAKIRA WE LOVE YOU...........................

Mousepad for men

Ain't that funny

it happens every now and then that i receive an email from someone i haven't heard from in 10 years or more; they see my profile somewhere on the net and write me a fervent email full of exclamation marks. don't get me wrong, i get excited when i find these surprise emails (sometimes), and usually write back right away...

but then there's nothing more to say and the correspondence stops right then and there or at best after another email or 2. isn't that funny ? i guess people just grow apart and unless u really have something significant in common, u probably won't hear from each other again for another 10 years.... if that.

Arabian Gulf Road

Anyone noticed the amount of construction on the Arabian Gulf Road lately, lets hope it ends up looking like THIS.

Naked ambassador

u don't see this in the news everyday. silly, silly ambassador.

Israel recalls naked ambassador

"[...] police found Mr Refael in the Israeli embassy compound where he had been found bound, gagged and naked apart from sado-masochistic sex accessories. "

Boss panic button

u know that weird reflex of minimizing your browser window at work, the second you hear someone (especially your boss) coming towards your office ?

i found a cool - fun rather than practical - alternative way of dealing with such sudden (inconsiderate) intruders. it's called a boss panic button. for fun i added one to this blog; so if u hear footsteps coming your way, all u have to do is click the red button on the top right side and u're home free ;)

KUNT

This has to be the funniest published Ad. ever.

Arab Times newspaper have to seriously look into hiring an editor that graduated high school.

Cool Commercial

I bet most of you have already seen it on TV, I just though is was uber cool.

Is it worth it

one of the reactions after a conflict between 2 people, is to use the silent treatment. the thing about it is that the longer you go without talking to each other, the harder it gets to reconcile. and no matter how much we say that pride shouldn't come between 2 good friends or 2 people in a relationship / marriage, it's always there.

the whole thing becomes a vicious chain of negative emotions: anger turns into pride, which turns into stubbornness, which eventually turns into contempt. and once u've reached that stage, the chances are that the connection which once existed between the 2 of u is lost for ever.

before u start giving someone the silent treatment always ask yourself, is it worth losing this friendhsip / relationship over ? Though the answer is sometimes yes, most of the time u'll find that it's no ;)

Tabeekh

I was just reading Fonz 's post on Home Cooking and realized that most of us don't appreciate home cooked meals like we should, specially arabic TABEEKH.

For my fellow non-arabic speaking readers: Tabeekh means home cooked meals in arabic

My favorite Tabkhat cooked and prepared by my lovely mother:

1. Wara2 Enab (Grape Leaves)
2. Mulokhieh (Meat not chicken)
3. Mughrabieh (also known as Maftool)
4. Ma2loobeh (with Cauliflower not Eggplant)
5. Mashawy (Kabab, Tika, Shish Taouk and the works)
6. Mansaf (Jordan's national dish)
7. Msakhan (Palestine's national dish)
8. Kusa with Bandoura (Zucchini in tomato sauce)

My least favorite Tabkhat:

1. Bamyeh (no need to explain why)
2. Labanimo (a yougurt with rice dish)
3. Faware3' (Stuffed intestines)
4. Anything with fool (Beans)
5. Anything with eggplants

I got flicked off

yesterday i was driving in the left lane of a highway, hovering around the speed limit (because of the law-abiding driver in front of me, whom i respect). then i looked at my sideview-mirror to see a big white 4-wheeler behind me; he was so close to my car that the slightest brake would've surely gotten my rear bumper a white dent. since i couldn't move any faster, i ignored the s.o.b and kept rocking to my newly made old school CD.

but the bastard behind me wouldn't leave it at that: the 1st chance he got, he went to the next lane, sped ahead, cut me off (almost hitting the guy who was in front of me). i honked. he flicked me off. then he went to the extreme right and took an exit.

kudos to whoever raised this guy.

Jordanian humor

Abu Mahjoob Creative Productions are the funniest (sometimes political) cartoonists out there.

Sometimes you have to be familiar with Jordan to understand the humor in things, but not all the time.

Check out the site, they have interesting stuff.

And 3 years later...

i wanted to go see a movie last night so i checked cinescape to see what was playing... nothing interesting except for the holiday which i'd already seen.

anyways, i was surprised to see that wicker park was playing

why is there a 3 year-old film in the movie theaters ? i mean i understand if there are movies from 2006 because of release date issues, but this one's from 2004 !

needless to say the movie outing was replaced by coffee...

Rose Milk??

I've been seeing these billboards all over the place...I personally love KDD, but this has to be the worst product ever made.
Although I didn't try it, I can taste it in my mouth... Nye3
Who's the genius that thought this one up?

Remember the Banana Lolly, it brings back childhood memories, I still buy boxes of it.

Bullshit

In society, there are many products and ideas that we buy in to. Some of these products, services or ideas are just plain bullshit. Well known magicians: Penn and Teller are here to knock some sense into people in a humourous and informal way and to explain why some things in life are just plain... Bullshit!

I've seen season 1 & 2, thought they were great.

Visual test

i don't usually like these internet tests but this one's kind of interesting, it's more visual..
